Keep in mind that bottled mineral water will have readings in excess of 250ppm!

Please note that this filter system is designed for drinking water to be able to filter out the sediment, chemicals, bacteria, odors and heavy metals in water but is also able to leave the healthy mineral content of the water in tact. The intended use of this dual water filter is not for gardening or other uses which require might require low PPM readings.

0.5 Micron and 5 Micron Dual Water Filtration

Combining a 0.5 micron and a 5 micron water filter maximizes your water purity. The 5 micron polypropelyne filter cleans out larger sediment such as sand, dirt, and silt while the 0.5 micron filter catches the remaining smaller particles such as chemicals, chlorine, bacteria, cysts, and other small contaminants.

They are a standard size filter at 2.5″ x 10″ and the first stage is a 5 micron sediment filter and the second stage is 0.5 micron carbon block filter.

The filter should be changed every six months. They are universal and can be replaced by an 5 micron sediment filter rand 0.5 micron carbon block filter of the same size.

On the positive side, it is easy to hook up and connect. The issue is it only filters marginally well. I got this for watering my garden. On my total dissolved solids meter, my city water has 195ppm. After going through this filter, it was 150ppm. By comparison, my RO system on my drinking water is 7ppm. So yes, it makes an improvement. Marginally.
I returned it.

I was skeptical due to the low price of this product when compared to other RV water filtration options… I must admit, I was impressed by the quality of the item I received!!! The fittings are solid, the mounting hardware is solid, the plastic filter chambers are solid!!! Everything is extrelmely well made! I have only used it one weekend so far, but I can say that the filter did not appear to impede the flow of water. I can not completely speak about the quality of the filters since it is possible the water was already clean before it hit the filter, but the included filters are easily replaced if it turns out they don’t work well… With the price I paid on this item, I can buy name brand filters to replace the included filters and still save a lot of money. If you are looking to replace that disposable filter everyone seems to buy for their RV, you can’t go wrong with this one!

So far I'm impressed with the quality of this product. I live on a farm and we have well water. I am using this product as a pre-filter for my reverse osmosis filter to not only extend the life of it but to filter out the iron and or particulates in our well water. I noticed from the first use that the reverse osmosis filter is putting out more output than before and I would think it would be less due to the additional 2 stages the water is going through. I store the water so I haven't had the opportunity to determine if it taste better but I will take the additional output and increased filter life.

The housing and brass fittings seem sturdy and well made. Installation was simple with no leaks. There is a definite improvement in water quality over the smaller inline RV filters. We haven’t had to change the filters yet, so don’t know how long they will last.

I checked the water purity before the filter and after the filters, and no change. This means that the filters are not purifying the water at all. I am wasting my time to set this up on the RV.

Found a spot to mount this in the wet bay of our RV. No more dirty water, it's all nice and clean now. We don't notice an impact to water pressure, either.

Sorry I gave it 4 stars because I have not used it yet, I purchased it for my Motorhome and I am going to build an L shape wood support to set on the ground to mount it near the water entrance to the MH. I will use large spikes to steady the support if setting on ground…..This looks to be well built and I liked it because of the price point, the Brass fittings, and it uses standard filters….

Conclusion

Nothing about this Dual Water Filter is cheap. It is made with a heavy duty construction so that it will hold up for years on the road.

The housing, fittings, and mounting bracket are made with quality in mind, so that the only thing you'll have to replace are the filters themselves.
