The UV is capable of killing viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms by interfering with the DNA and RNA in the organism's reproductive cycles. With the system itself measuring 19 x 14.5 x 5.25 inches and the tank measuring 16 x 11 inches, the entire unit fits nicely in under-sink cabinets. The booster pump runs quiet, only generating a low volume hum that cannot be heard with normal kitchen activity. Included with the system is a lead-free solid brass body faucet with a brushed nickel finish. The faucet is typically mounted on the counter as the main output source for the RO water, but output lines can also be connected to your refrigerator output, ice maker, and coffee maker.

The installation is streamlined and DIY for most users, with written, video, and tech support assistance if needed. Replacement filters are standard sized and available at factory direct pricing. The system comes with a 1-year money back guarantee, 1-year limited warranty, and lifetime technical support from iSpring in Alpharetta, GA. Review 1

I’m very happy with this system. I bought the 7 stage unit and installed it in my basement just under my kitchen sink. The pump is quiet and the UV filter comes on only when there is a flow of water. It was easy to install and it provides a great peace of mind knowing my water is safer than most peoples in my neighborhood especially with all the contaminated water supplies happening in Michigan and everywhere. All the components look to be of high quality and I had no leaks. Here is a what the TDS reader I bought from iSpring reads (see photos) – Regular tap water VS the R.O. Water- 272 VS 18

After I posted the initial review, the manufacturer contacted me and informed me that the UV stage of the product has been redesigned. The new UV ballast now includes a water flow sensor, and the UV bulb will only turn on when the water is flowing. Therefore the water does is not heated. The only flaw in this device has been completely remedied.

The seller/manufacturer sent me the new, upgraded parts FREE OF CHARGE, even though I had purchased the unit almost 2 years earlier.

I can't say enough about this level of customer service. As stated in my initial review, everything has worked perfectly with this unit for the 2 years I've owned it.

UPGRADED TO 5 STARS and Highly recommended.

****ORIGINAL REVIEW****
I've been using this daily for 2 years with no issues, except one small thing- The first couple of cups of water that comes out of it during each use is HOT due to the ultraviolet bacterial-killing stage. That is the only reason for the 4-star rating instead of 5. This is only a minor inconvenience in most cases, but…

I installed a “T” fitting and a pair of on/off valves from the local home improvement store so I could feed the output both to the sink faucet and my refrigerator's icebox. Worked fine at first, but the very high water temperature at the output damaged the O-rings in the aftermarket cut-off valves after only a couple of months.

However, I still recommend this unit overall. It would be nice if they had a thermal cut-off switch on the UV. Then it would be perfect for its capacity and price.

The installation went smoothly and took a little longer than expected, but then again, I have never done this before. There was at least one minor hiccup and that was due to a missing Feed Water Valve that tech support readily and quickly replaced. I am now waiting to contact tech support again for what appears to be a non-operational UVC-Ballast. There appears to be two indicator lights on there to inform you whether or not the UVC-Ballast is functional when water is detected flowing through it. However, I have never seen any of the indicator lights turn on while water was flowing.

A few suggestions prior to tackling the installation of this product on your own.
1. Make note of the dimensions to ensure proper fit: System Dimensions: 14.5w x 7d x 19h
2. Read the directions, read directions, read directions (I actually searched and downloaded a PDF version prior to arrival)
3. Watch the recommended YouTube videos and if possible, have it on the ready to watch while installing. Any confusion that some may have experienced with the written instructions should be eliminated after watching the videos at least a couple of times.
4. Lay out all of the parts to make sure they are all there. The system comes nearly fully assembled and the pictures of the parts come in handy, however, I would prefer an actual listing along with the pictures. Nevertheless, the pictures tell you almost exactly what is there (spares state that they vary).
5. Decide where your RO system will go and that includes the tank. Fortunately, I had enough space and I was able to construct something to hold the system in place that will also allow me to remove the filters in place or remove the entire system out at once (leaving the tank).
6. There is no need to hook up the RO faucet if you plan on directly connecting to a water cooler or refrigerator. That is what I did. However, keep in mind that you need to flush the system prior to first use and therefore you should keep the line that will dispense the clean water (RO water) handy and with at least one valve on the end of it to control the flow of water.
7. When you do bleed the line for the first time, you may have to turn on the pump for that to work. I did. The instructions state not to turn it on. However, nothing was coming out and when I did turn on the pump, water began to very slowly trickle out. I let mine sit for at least 30 minutes before following the next steps in System Startup. I had some apprehension at first, but when the tank was connected, the flow was more acceptable. (Sorry no flow rate meters were attached).

My TDS Monitor readings were as follows:
Input: 315 to 317
Output of RO: 15 to 17.

This is the TDS Monitor I am using: HM Digital DM-1 In-Line Dual TDS Monitor

If I had to do it again, I would go with the iSpring RCS5T 500 GPD Commercial Grade (https://www.amazon.com/iSpring-RCS5T-Commercial-Tankless-Reverse/dp/B00PCRSD7I/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8). This unit comes without a tank, but it does have the frame. That would have been a real time saver and I do value my time!

Conclusion

This is by far the most superior system. Very good quality.  The water is as good as it can be. Definitely recommended this company & this particular RO system
