This is a generic fridge filter which means it’s compatible with many refrigerators. With its superior triple filtration technology, it is considered to be the best choice for the water filtration at home because it removes chemicals, contaminants, pharmaceuticals, parasites, and all other dust particles, making the water safe to drink. It has the capacity of 200 gallons and it has to be replaced once in about every six months.

This top water filter is capable of removing elements like asbestos, lead and so many other, which is NSF certified so you won't have to worry about the quality of your water anymore. The filter removes all the harmful components from the water, but it dwells all the components that your body needs from the water, which is health beneficial.

This product is compatible with a lot of refrigerator models such as Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, LG, Amana and much more and the only qualification your fridge has to have is access to the filter.

The filter comes in a 2-pack style and it needs to be changed once in every six months, however, that isn't something you'll have to put into your calendar and worry about because there is a light in the filter that turns on when it needs the replacement.

Users are mostly satisfied with the product, but there are those who complained about the chlorine smell and taste of the water. The filter obviously isn't capable of moving that chemical from the water, and although it can't be harmful, it definitely isn't pleasant to feel like you are drinking the pool water.

This filter reduces so many contaminators such as iron, chlorine and so many other unwanted particulates from your water if changed on regular bases, of course, which means once in every six months.

It works perfectly on all compatible LG fridges, just as the name brand, but for a lot less money. It is user-friendly which means that is really easy to install and it reminds you when the filter needs to be replaced. It does the great job purifying the water that has just the perfect taste and smell after the filtration and if you buy it once, you will definitely buy it again.

Yes, all of that can be found in the tap water.

In order to clean the water perfectly, each filter needs to be replaced once in every six months.

The filter does not work in my refrigerator. When I installed it, no water came out of the door. I cannot find a way to contact the seller to ask for a refund. The center hole in this filter is much smaller than the filter I am replacing. It is not a straight switch with the GE brand filter.

As far as I can tell, the only differences between this Best filter and the ge one is price (obviously) and this filter doesn't have the same nsf 53 classification as the ge filter. While it is true that this filter doesn't offer the same level of water purification, what it does do is make decent water taste great for a fraction of the price. My suggestion would be to look up your local water reports (they are required by law to post them) and see what your local water actually contains before deciding if you need the super expensive ge filter or not. My water levels just had high levels of chlorine, and this filter takes care of that, so there was no need for me to pay more for carbon filter overkill. The rest is identical. It fits my fridge the same way. The water flow is still strong. The water tastes great, and at a fraction of the cost.

So check your water report first. If it contains toxic sludge, get the brand name. If you're like me and just need to get rid of some chlorine, this one is perfect.

I would give it “0” stars if I could – the water stream was so slight that it took 45 seconds to fill a 10 oz. glass, this was beyond slow. It would be quicker to fill a glass with water by standing outside in the rain than getting water through this filter. Luckily for me, Amazon refunded my money without any hassle – I guess that is why I continue to buy from Amazon. I took a chance with this generic filter to save money, but it definitely is not worth the savings – already ordered the name brand filter. Perhaps this filter is an adequate substitute on some GE model refrigerators, but definitely not mine.

I was sold on this product because of so many excellent reviews. It arrived today and, even tho I let multiple pitchers run thru (and then several more later), there are odd particles in the water. I let it sit, then ran it thru again, and they were still there. I've never experienced this with the GE brand filter. It was not the natural reaction to being filtered that causes tiny bubbles; these were actually small piece of who-knows-what (they were not, however, dark as if they came from the inside filter itself). I did not drink the water, because at this point things floating around in my “filtered” (or is it?!) water trumps any taste. This will be returned. Tried to take photos, but even with a macro lense I was unable to get a good shot of the mystery particles. And when I out my GE filter back in (it was 6 mo tha old), there was nothing floating around. Bad product.
UPDATE: I received a second filter from the seller as they saw my review and said the filter I initially received must've been defective. The new one arrived today and had the same problem, even after several runs to get it going and flush thru. Additionally, it “blew up” the water (both when I went to put water in a glass and again inside the fridge when I removed the filter) and created a huge mess both times, once on the fridge exterior and floor, the other inside the fridge. At least it was only water. I know sometimes air bubbles are created and that's normal, but I've never had anything like that happens with previous filters. However, that may have just been a fluke. But, the little particles (not the same as tiny bubbles that dissipate quickly) were there again, and when I put my GE filter back (again), I once again compared the water and it was free of weird specs floating around. I wanted this to work, and I don't like leaving a negative review, but two filters later and the problem still exists. The customer service by the seller was great and incredibly friendly and accommodating tho!

Conclusion

Overall, the filter does a great job and the water tastes perfect after being filtered.
