Overview of Detoxification
Our increasingly toxic world creates a major burden on our bodies. Exposure through the air we breathe, the stress we feel and the food we ingest can add up to over 14 pounds of pesticides, herbicides, food additives and preservatives per year for the average American. The liver, together with the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, is the organ responsible for removing these toxins through a process called biotransformation. If the liver is not working at full speed, every other system in the body is at risk as fat soluble toxins, which are poorly excreted, become stored in the body. The process of biotransformation is performed through a two-step enzymatic process known as Phase I and Phase II detoxification.
These two pathways help to breakdown toxins into harmless substances. Phase I is composed of a series of enzymes, called cytochrome P450, which chemically change harmful, fatsoluble toxins into more toxic substance called intermediate metabolites. Since the “intermediary metabolites” are often more toxic than the original fat- soluble toxin, they must then go through Phase II processing into safe and water-soluble form through their attachment to other molecules, to form inert compounds which are then safely released from the body.
The Core Restore Program is a science-based system strategically designed to enhance Phase II mechanisms first, ensuring proper clearance of toxins, then provides nutritional support for Phase I detoxification making sure each step of biotransformation is in sync and reducing the toxic burden on the body.

Core Support
Core Support powder enhances Phase II detoxification by providing clean protein, gentle fiber, and specific nutrients which help eliminate toxins during the seven-day detoxification program. Core Support provides nutrients needed for Phase II detox including N-acetyl cysteine, glycine, taurine, lipoic acid, green tea extract, ellagic acid, and a unique blend of vegetable phytonutrients. The antioxidant activity of this unique blend of nutrients is protective against cell damage by free radicals and helps induce Phase II enzymes which facilitate the removal of toxins from the body and scavenge free radicals.3 Research has shown that glutathione and the amino acid cysteine help to regulate Phase II conjugation reactions 4 and epigallocatechin- 3-gallate (EGCG), the major polyphenol in green tea, has also been shown to induce expression of glutathione S-transferase and glutathione peroxidase.5 Core Support provides organic brown rice protein as a satisfying and hypoallergenic energy source, as well as 6-7 g of fiber per serving, essential for binding toxins for elimination.
PhytoCore
PhytoCore is added on the third day of the Core Restore program to stimulate Phase I activity once Phase II has been established. The specialized blend of nutrients in PhytoCore has been shown to stimulate Phase I and II biotransformation and support the body’s natural liver cleansing function during detoxification. Each capsule includes silymarin, artichoke extract, curcumin, methionine, choline, inositol, garlic, and dandelion root. These botanicals and plant extracts include phytonutrients, antioxidants and other compounds that protect plants from environmental challenges including exposure to radiation and toxins, and defend them against pests and infectious agents. In humans, this array of biologically active compounds has been shown to increase cellular defenses, upregulate detoxification, and protect DNA.6,7 Silymarin has been found to possess substantial protective effects and free radical scavenging capacity, protecting the liver against oxidative damage while it neutralizes toxic environmental contaminants.8 Curcumin, another compound in PhytoCore, has also been linked with increased expression of the detoxification enzymes glutathione-s-transferases, glutathione reductase, epoxide hydrolase, HO-1, catalase and NQO1 in liver, small intestine and kidney tissues.
Alpha Base
Alpha Base provides a multi-nutrient foundation to ensure the liver has adequate amounts of important trace minerals and vitamins needed for the energy/nutrient intensive process of detoxification. Nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and the B vitamins are required for cytochrome P450 activity.1 In addition to vitamins and trace minerals, carotenoids are included to help scavenge free radicals and protect cells while toxins are removed.

I lost my cravings for coffee and refined white flour products. The drink was very filling. I did not feel hungry at all. I had a mild headache and a few body aches the first 2 days.
I have used this product last year, and do like the improved taste of the shakes. I followed it to the letter and lost 5.5lbs. I consider myself a pretty healthy person, but was having trouble loosing the last 15lbs. I am well on my way now! Thanks core support detox for a wonderful product.

AMAZING! Followed the program exactly as detailed in the materials. I lost 12 lbs.in 7 days and feel great – a new jumpstart on life.
The shakes take some getting use to and the first 2 days are very hard – no food at all (just shakes). My recommendation: Do the program with someone else (spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.). In my case, it really made a difference.
Go for it. you can do it and will be glad you did!

I learned about this product when I was a nurse at a medical spa. I find this to be what appears a healthy, logical method to allow your intestinal system to calm down and heal after inflammation or other injury. I always feel better after following this program for two weeks. I can't vouch scientifically for any cleansing properties but I do know that I feel better, my skin looks better, and premenstrual symptoms disappear almost completely when I follow this regimen.

I've done this cleanse in the past and it was great. However, they have changed the formula, it is way too sweet with a strange aftertaste, and is triggering sugar cravings which never happened with the old formula. Will not be purchasing again.

I just completed the 7 day program as recommended by my doctor. Her recommendation was the result of comprehensive blood work from Boston Heart Diagnostics and various other nutritional and food sensitivity testing from Genova Diagnostics, which indicated inflammatory issues. I purchased the kit some time ago and wasn't very motivated to start, but finally decided the day after Thanksgiving would be a good time.
The first two days were difficult without any food and I had to find ways of keeping busy to avoid thinking about it. During those two days I felt sometimes energized and other times lacked energy, but kept looking forward to Sunday morning when I could have some real food. For the next five days I followed the guide carefully eating only organic foods as permitted, excluding dairy, wine, coffee and other things that I typically enjoy in moderation. In addition, I began using LoseIt! to log everything I ate to be sure not to exceed the daily calorie recommendation. This was pretty eye opening by itself to see how many calories are in even very healthy things such as olive oil and avocado.

The result has been that I've lost 5 lbs and 2 inches from my waist. I feel very good and am considering sticking with the program for another 21 days as I don't want to relapse into my old habits. But whatever I decide, I will definitely be much more aware of what and how much I'm taking into my body. In addition to this, I've started the 'Old School Workout” which is available online and a good reminder of what were very effective workouts for me in my earlier days.
I read some comments here about the bad taste of the Core Support powder….at first I didn't like it either. However, once I began using unsweetened organic rice milk I got used to it and I've come to actually enjoy the taste and almost look forward to it in the am and pm. it's also pretty satisfying. I don't think I could do one of those fasts of only juice & water very easily, but this was a really good healthy balanced program for me!

Core Support Detox is a great product. This is an amazing detox. I felt so good while on this product and even after. The first day is the hardest and after it was easy.
