It is our commitment that products from Great Lakes Gelatin are of the best and safest gelatins in the industry. We are always monitoring the safety and quality of our products. Each batch of gelatin is tested to evaluate its various characteristics. Official methods of testing have been developed by the Gelatin Manufacturers Institute. The procedures used are variations of those outlined in Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) “Methods of Analysis” and United States Pharmacopoeia/ BAM (Bacteriological Analytical Manual). Gelatin is tested for purity, color, taste and odor for those who take it medicinally.

???Pasture Raised Grass-Fed Cattle

Great Lakes Gelatin shares the concerns that many of our customers have about animal welfare and the quality of the grazing conditions for cattle. We believe cattle should be raised in a natural environment. Our bovine collagens and gelatins are made from the hides of cattle from our associated partners in Argentina and Brazil. The cattle are pasture raised and grass-fed in Argentina and Brazil and beef hides are the only product used to manufacture gelatin in these countries. Ranchers in Argentina and Brazil have traditionally raised cattle in herds that graze freely on natural grasslands. We visit the region regularly and have observed first-hand, that this is the case. Great Lakes Gelatin has a long history with our foreign partners and we only do business with sources that we trust are adhering to the principles of animal welfare and are grazing herds in the traditional manner. These countries have the same type of rigorous tests and inspections as the United States.

Gelatin is the most multi-functional ingredient in food, pharmaceutical health, nutrition and photographic industries. gelatin is a food ingredient from natural origin that offers a clean label and versatility that makes it irreplaceable in many applications. In addition to its numerous functionalities, gelatin offers many other benefits. It has many advantages such as thermo-reversibility, stability, ease of use and ingredient compatibility.

The gelatin powder in our orange can dissolves in hot water only and will clump up in cold liquids. It has all the same benefits as the Collagen Hydrolysate in the green can but allows you to use in recipes as a thickener, from gummy bears and jellies to soups.

Two most desirable properties of gelatin is the melt-in-themouth characteristics and its ability to form thermo-reversible gels. Gelatin is preferred in many applications for its clarity and bland flavor.

This stuff is great! I had lower back pain from a car accident 8 months ago and nothing helped. I didnt want to depend on motrin and muscle relaxers for the rest of my life, so I started to research other option. I came across the gelatin and decided to give it a try. After two days 90% of my pain was gone, and as a bonus I am sleeping through the night. I gave it to my 90 year old father who suffers from osteoarthritis and it has elevated much of his daily pain. I read that gelatin reduces inflammation and I believe that this product does exactly that.

The headline says it all. This is a great product. Many of us are learning too late in life that beef is actually good for us … If it's raised properly, of course. (Don't get me started.) And the gelatin in the beef? … well that's like icing on the cake … only much better for you. So, yes, I really appreciate this product & being able to access it easily. HA! I wish the packaging were as easy to deal w/ as ordering something through Amazon. What is with this packaging? Why is it not the same as the Great Lakes Collagen packaging? Why is it not a simple plastic lid that one can flip off & have easy access to the contents. Why is the spoon opening smaller than any tablespoon I own. I can fit my half tablespoon in there, but then I have to do it twice to get 1 tablespoon. Efficient it is NOT. Then when the thing is nearly empty, it is next to impossible to get the last of the product out of it. Did I mention that I love the product? YES!!! ALL of the product! This stuff is too good to waste it. Please, Great Lakes, PLEASE, change the packaging.

I really like this kosher gelatin and even reordered it. I make my son's gummy vitamins with them and dog treats. Every time the recipes come out exactly as needed. I'm a pleased customer and will continue to order from them.

(I make my son, elderberry gummies, Vitamin C gummies, and mineral/watermelon gummies as those in the stores are loaded with sugar and pig gelatin. I have two dogs — their breeds are known for hip issues, so I use this gelatin and homemade meat stock to make them treats for their hips — no sign of any discomfort and they love the treats.)

Thank you for your quality product

I add this product to regular sugarless jello to help my joints. My hip would really hurt when out shopping. And when I tried to sleep on my side, I would wake up in pain. A friend told me to try this. It's a miracle. No more pain in my hip or knees. I'm 78 years old and was worrying that I would need a hip replacement. No I don't. I told my doctor about it and he sad keep eating it. I just eat a small square daily that my wife cuts up & puts in sandwich bags. Highly recommended.

I have been mixing in my water…I pour some gelatin in my cup and continue to stir. Let sit for 10 minutes and then stir well again and drink it. My hair is growing like crazy. Hoping it is making a difference in my skin too

Review 6

Started using this to repair and strengthen nails after too much nail stuff/gels. Also I have always had weak nails.
Since the orange can gels, I use it in oatmeal every day. After the damaged nails grew out, the new growth was amazingly stronger.
Nails grow slowly so it took months but I know this made the difference. You add this to the oatmeal and cold water, let it “bloom”, mix and microwave. I even throw in peanut butter and you never taste the gelatin.

I also have recently started using the green can, which does not gel or thicken, in my morning coffee. Now,I lose less hair in the shower, with brushing, and just in general all day. And it is less frizzy.

So I do both Types, daily. Green can in beverages, orange in oatmeal.

As long as you sprinkle this into room temperature or cold liquid it “blooms” well – if you drop into hot fluid it turns into tough strands.
I love this gelatin, I make jello every week and I believe it is helping my joints, specifically my knees (and I lost 15 pounds). This was part of my weight-loss plan; I used a healthy lemon-aid, added 1 tbsp per cup juice, let it sit and bloom, once dissolved I put over burner till warm then let cool and refrigerated – voila! excellent healthy jello!

Conclusion

Great Lakes Gelatin, Certified Paleo Friendly, Collagen Protein, Pasture-Raised, Grass-Fed, Non-GMO, Kosher, Beef Gelatin, 16 oz. 2-Pack – Frustration Free Packaging. The orange can allows you to make jello, gummy bears, etc. as it “gels”. The green can dissolves in the liquid.
