Directions
TO THICKEN: Add to cool water and allow to bloom (absorb and expand), then add hot liquid and stir to dissolve. As it cools, it will begin to thicken and gel.
AS A SUPPLEMENT: Just add a scoop to a hot beverage or smoothie and mix until dissolved.
We recommend starting with one serving per day, and after your body adjusts (after a month of use), upping to two servings per day. It is best taken with a source of vitamin C, as it will provide for maximum absorption in the body.

I bought this product as an alternative to a more expensive gelatin product I was already buying from Vital Proteins. After confirming with Amandean that their gelatin product was also derived from cows that had been raised in pastures (primarily grass-fed) and were free of undesirable things (such as added gluten, GMOs, rBGH, ractopamine, or preservatives), I decided to give it a try. I found the Amandean gelatin to be every bit as good as the more expensive brand. The usage measurements are the same and, as a bonus, you get 2.2 pounds of gelatin from Amandean versus only 2 pounds from Vital Proteins.
Amandean deserves 5 stars for taste, quality, and quantity, but I'm only giving 4 stars because the package it comes in far exceeds that which is necessary to hold the product. I don't know if this is a marketing ploy to create the illusion in the mind of the buyer that they are getting SO MUCH more, but it is unnecessary since the weight is clearly indicated on the label. So if Amandean would stop wasting natural resources by using an unnecessarily large container, I would happily revise this review and give them the 5 stars they deserve.
In the meantime I'll keep buying and watching for a reduction in the container size. It's everybody's responsibility to conserve our finite natural resources.
FYI:
I use it to make a healthy and gut-friendly beverage that is much less expensive than outrageously priced bone broth, but just as beneficial. For those that are interested, I am listing the simple recipe below.
1-2 shakes of sea salt
1-2 shakes of ground black pepper
1/4 tsp organic ground turmeric (Note: organic spices are not irradiated, which destroys their natural health benefit.)
2 level scoops of gelatin
1 cup of organic chicken broth (Note: I use and like the Pacific brand.)
4 ounces of distilled water *
1 Tbs of organic coconut oil
(* Don't use tap water. It typically has chlorine, or chloramine, and fluoride in it; all of which are toxic and wreck havoc on your gut.)
Put the ingredients in an unheated pan in the order listed, except for the coconut oil. Do not stir. Apply a low heat (e.g., simmer) to the pan and let it slowly warm to a tolerable sipping temperature. When warm, add the coconut oil and stir. Drink and enjoy. Your gut will love you for it.

Very pleased with this order. 2.2 pounds of gelatin will take us awhile to use up, so the strong container is very nice. My wish is that when it is time to reorder, the company will offer the same product in a bag at a lower price as a refill.

It's helping with my mobility issues. I'm taking less pain medications during the day for slipped lumbar disc(s), and my rotator cuff tear is healing now, and the carpel tunnel is becoming more bearable without the braces. It is important to bloom it first by putting one scoop of the powder in 4 ounces of warm water, then whisking it with a fork. Add 8 or 10 ounces of hot water and add tea bag of your choosing. I usually take it twice a day morning and night with a tablespoon of honey, and a tablespoon of EVO for the Omega 3 benefits. I can't wait to be on it for 6 months, it's only been a week. Pure collagen, no carbs, and all the Amino Acids you need. Great product. I will buy again for myself and others too.

We mix this product with unsweetened fruit juice and add some extra fresh fruit to make jello, (gigglers). After we included the jello into our regular diet my wife and I can both attest to better range of motion and less overall joint stiffness. Even some of the routine/normal muscle aches have gone away and our recoup time after yardwork and such has shorten. This Beef Gelatin didn't turn back the clock to when we were in our 40's but at 65 we're happy with the improvement in our overall health and fitness.

Beef Gelatin has been helping me with my acute knee pain. My husband had severe, chronic knee pains for months. He was very skeptical about taking this product, but he was in so much pain, so he decided to try it. He did it off and on for a couple of weeks, and his knee pain was getting better; then he did not take it for a few days, and he had the worse knee pain again; he could barely walk. So I had him start using this product again, and to his surprise, the knee pain went down right away. So, we have been trying to use it each and every single day and our knees are getting better. We are both over fifty, so I would say it can help older people.
Dr. Joel Wallach recommends taking gelatin for knee pain. He said that drinking gelatin could prevent a lot of knee surgeries because gelatin helps to rebuild the connective tissue, among health benefits.

It sets up perfectly. I am currently making gummy Legos and gummy everything using this gelatin & organic juices. (Also building gummy Lego buildings with my uneaten blocks). What a fun way to support my joints, skin, hair & nails! I am happy with this product as it is Grass-Fed and Pasture Raised cows that go into their products (sorry not vegan). I also say no to GMOs and this gelatin has none. Amino Acids – yes please! Thanks for labeling your products effectively, and selling on Amazon! I will continue to purchase.
