We all like the taste of mineral-heavy water, and with the state of today's public water systems, health need always be at the top of mind when considering a filtration systems. Replacing a filter every 6 months is frustrating and expensive. And while Reverse Osmosis filters remove harmful minerals, they also remove essential ones, resulting in dead water. The Woder 10K-Gen3 leaves these essential minerals, leaving clean, crisp water how it's supposed to be.

Water as mother nature intended it to be

When your water is pure yet healthy with essential minerals, it’s the way nature intended drinking water to be. By contrast, residential filters that work with reverse osmosis filter out everything, including the minerals your body needs for good health. As far as nutrition goes, experts consider it essentially dead water.

PURE AND HEALTHY WATER – WITH NO MORE BOTTLES IN THE FRIDGE

Eliminates lead (99.9%), heavy metals, chlorine (99.9%), chromium 6, mercury, volatile organic compounds, carcinogens, and other contaminants, as well as turbidity, odors and bad tastes. So you and your family enjoy pure, healthy, spring-fresh water from the tap.

Much healthier than water filtered by reverse osmosis

Filters that work by reverse osmosis remove everything, even the essential minerals. That’s why water filtered by RO is described by many experts as “dead” water.

Woder filters have a unique technology that removes over 99.99% of contaminants while leaving in all essential minerals

What are essential minerals?

Essential minerals are ingredients that your body does not produce naturally but that are  necessary for your health and wellbeing. They include:

Calcium – Your body needs calcium to build strong bones and teeth. Calcium also plays a role in nerve transmissions, muscle function — including that of the heart — and hormone secretion.

Potassium – Potassium controls the electrical activity of your heart, making it vital to maintaining a normal heart rhythm. Your body also needs it to build proteins, break down and use carbohydrates, maintain the pH balance of the blood and support normal growth.

Sodium – Although too much sodium can increase your risk for developing high blood pressure, your body needs sodium to stimulate nerve and muscle function, maintain the correct balance of fluid in the cells and support the absorption of other nutrients including chloride, amino acids and glucose.

Magnesium – Your body needs magnesium to support more than 300 biochemical reactions. Magnesium supports muscle and nerve function, keeps your heart beating regularly, builds strong bones and boosts immunity

Phosphorus – Phosphorus plays an important role in building strong bones and teeth, producing proteins the body needs and repairing cells.

Chloride – Chloride, usually consumed as a salt compound such as sodium chloride — better known as table salt — balances the fluids in your body and plays an essential role in the production of digestive juices in the stomach.

Should I be concerned about total dissolved solids?

All healthy water has a certain level of total dissolved solids. These are the essential minerals. So TDS meters are not an effective way to measure water quality. In fact, water without any TDSs is considered “dead” water and not healthy for drinking. It is most often produced by reverse osmosis.

No problems installing (3/8″ connections) , but when I turned on the water there was no black charcoal activation. I was concerned that Amazon sold me a bad/used water filter, so I called Woder and left a voicemail message describing my issue. If you watch the online video, it clearly shows black charcoal discharge.

I got a call back within 10 minutes from Steven, a rep with Woder or the manufacturer. He explained to me that during manufacturing, the early batches of filters have a finer charcoal dust , causing the water to come out black when activated. In some filters, the charcoal will not have a black colored activation. He says that they are working on updating the online video to reflect this. The water should still be left running for at least 3 minutes, and will reach a fully activated state after 10 days.

When I asked if there was any chance I had been sold a used filter, he told me that all returns are typically due to incorrect hose sizing / installation incompatibility . All returns get sent to the factory where they are refurbished to original specs. He also told me that the filter is made by Clearbrook, and that the Woder 10k is their first residential application of the filter. The filter is actually rated at 5 yrs / 10000 gallons, but they decided to be conservative with the 3 year rating. Doing the math, its about using 10 Gallons of tap water a day for 3 years. If you use less than that, its possible you can make it to the 5 year mark without replacing the filter. Good to know!

So in short, I had some early concerns – but customer service was quick to answer my questions/concerns. He seemed pretty upfront, so I don't think they are trying to screw over customers. It has been around 7 days since I installed the filter, and the water does taste cleaner and smell better… so it does seem to work well

I am having the same issue as other users, the filter barley lasts 2 months. I live in NYC and I put my filter in on 7/22/18. At first the water flow was fine, but now it has slowed down significantly. I'm afraid that within another month the flow will stop completely. What a bummer! It is only 9/7/18, barley a month and a half and I have to search for another water filter. It reeks that this company, like so many others on Amazon, has my money fora product that don't work, and I can't do a thing about it!!! 🙁 But I bet Amazon is getting paid to host these companies, right?

The filter worked fine for about 3 weeks. The cold water flow was initially diminished slightly after the filter was attached, which was to be expected. However, after returning from a two-week vacation, we found that the flow was down to the merest trickle.

Since we were now outside of the return date, we are now stuck with a non-working filter and no option of return or replacement. This is disappointing, as we have no doubt that this is a high-quality filter that was improving the quality of our water; the general online reviews and Amazon customer comments are overwhelmingly positive about this product.

If anything, we would have been more than happy to simply replace the defective filter and continue to use the Woder as our main water purification option. Surprised and disappointed.

After much research and trying to decide whether to go with a Water Pitcher system which is expensive and in reality not that effective I decided to try the WODER Under Sink Filter. I am very impressed with Taste and Clarity of the water. You can immediately notice that their is no chemical smell from the chlorine and what ever else they put in the city water. I also noticed that the water became tasteless like it should. It was just clean, cold and refreshing. I have very good pressure and an expensive facet and there was very little pressure lost and to be honest I am glad since it will probably save me some water since everyone runs the facet too long. Installation is simple and the hoses provided are the standard hoses 99% of the facets require.

I can't really attest to the quality of the water other than smell.taste and clarity without doing a lab test but feel like any difference is better than none. We can wash our food/vegetables without getting all that chlorine all over them and water ever else might be in the water. I am thinking about putting one in line with my GE Refrigerator which has a water dispenser that uses those $42 dollar GE MFW Filters that are only good for approx 300 gallons or 6 months. With this acting as a pre filter I might not need to change the GE Filter but once a year. The WODER would pay for itself a few times over 3 years and would save me approx $130 in GE Filters with the added bonus of probably having super clean water.

Today I looked at the date label I put on the filter, I installed this on 2/25/18. This is attached to a dedicated water spigot on my sink too so I'm not using it to wash dishes, just to fill my containers for drinking water and to rinse fruit and veggies too. At first the water was fantastic, almost too strong as everything I stuck under it would cause a big splatter so I would have to adjust my flow but now not even 3 months of use and it's coming out so slow even at full blast. This is very disappointing, I had to buy extra fittings to make it work with my dedicated water faucet. I suspect it will absolutely stop flowing very soon as now when I fill a pitcher with water, I hear the flow not steady like somehow the filter is getting clogged up. Ok, I live in Baltimore city and I know city water isn't great but come on, not even 3 full months of use is shameful at $70 price tag. I would not recommend this filter at all unless you're looking to send your money literally down the drain. The taste of the water is not bad and that's why it got an extra star but the longevity claims is incredibly erroneous at best. Shopping for something else to replace this now.

i have been buying this filter for a year and a half now and every time i go to reorder the price goes up another 5 dollars. i will not reorder again because after 3 purchases the filters seem to only last 2 to 3 months before there is no pressure. i mean its almost at a drip so you will have to replace about every 2 to 3 months if you want water coming out of the fauset.

Conclusion

Good product and does its job very well
